Here is the first installment of our two-part ‘learn a new skill’ spring series with classes offered by two of Store Street’s unique specialist shops.
Are you passionate about music but haven’t expanded your musical horizons since you learnt the recorder in primary school? It’s never too late to take up a new hobby.
Footes, Store Street’s specialist music store, offers courses for busy Londoners interested in learning the basics of drumming.
• African Percussion Lessons: A beginners lunch-time course with Penny Elkins, an experienced multi-percussionist, who will teach you all West African secrets and techniques
• Latin Percussion Lessons: Discover your inner Latin rhythm with drummer Jorge Santo, trained in Havana and specialising in Cuban percussion
Or if you see yourself as the next Ringo Star, Footes is hosting ‘Best of British Day’, a special event on Saturday 29th April from 12pm, where you can meet the craftsmen behind the best British drum brands and learn some new skills.
You can also book your private lesson with Steve White, tutor for the event and drummer for Paul Weller, The Family Silver and The Style Council.
