Store Street likes it hot – last Friday saw history being made on Store Street for this year’s Bloomsbury Festival. To kick off the weekend, the street was lined with a host of illuminating sculptures transforming our favourite Bloomsbury quarter into a breath-taking sight of fire and light.
The Light Up Store Street event brought the street’s shops, cafés and restaurants into the spotlight with a different art-based activity taking place in each. Orchidya and Hurford Salvi Carr added to the ambience with live poetry reading and performances by harpist Fontane Liang respectively, whilst Cloud 9 Cycles picked-up the pace with a popular pedal-powered cinema.
Riot bar offered cocktails as guests took in live folk music on a fire-lit bandstand, whilst The Life Goddess and Orchidya kept visitors wined and dined over candlelit dinners.
The atmosphere on the street was electric and the ever perfect way to kick start a weekend of exciting events celebrating the area’s renowned arts and culture offer.
A fun evening was had by all, fuelled with excitement, creativity and lighter fluid. We would like to thank everyone who attended and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
